About

Hi, Im Angelo and Iā€™m the owner of appdriver.co.uk.

I studied Health and Fitness at University but ended up pursuing a career in sales which I did for 15 years. Although I learned alot about selling and marketing and generally enjoyed the buzz and competition of selling, I always knew that there was more in store for me and was always looking for opportunities to escape the grind of the traditional working life.

It was when my third child came along that I made a conscious decision that it was now time to get out of the confines of being an employee and become my own boss.

It was coincidentally around this time that I discovered the world of private hire and Uber and decided that that’s what I was going to do.

As I started doing my research I realised that there was barely any information or resources online. This prompted me to start appdriver.co.uk to document the process of becoming a private hire driver and to share everything I was learning along the way.

I started driving private hire part along with my full time job. The idea was to try it out to see how much money I could really make and with an extended summer holiday abroad to pay for, the extra income I was generating was also a bonus.

After 3 months of being a part time Uber driver I decided it was time to quit my secure, well paid job and enter the uncertain world of being a self employed private hire driver.

Now as a full time private hire driver, I can honestly say that I have never been happier in my work. The reason is because it doesn’t actually feel like work. It’s a lot of fun and every day is different.

I no longer feel like I’m running on a wheel and doing the same monotonous thing day after day. I feel free and the captain of my own ship. I decide where I go, when I go and how I go and am no longer bound by nonsensical rules you have to follow in the workplace.

If you can relate to what I’m saying and your considering in becoming a private hire driver and your motivated, hard working with a good attitude, then I say go for it.šŸ‘

The first step of becoming a private hire driver is applying for a TFL private hire licence. Follow my step by step guide below.

The biggest question potential drivers want to know is how much money can you make driving for uber. For this reason I release a monthly earnings report for you to see how much I earn and how I earn it which you can see by clicking the button below.
