With the nightmare of January behind us, February has started positively and things are finally starting to pick up again. I’m still off my target of £1000 but where starting to move in the right direction.

3 Feb – 10 Feb 2020 | Uber £430.80| Bolt £300.20| Total £731

I think I might have spoken to soon as this was another tough week. The good news is that next week Ola are officially launching, and I think it will be a busy week.

Ola have done a lot of advertising and put a lot of money behind their marketing campaign along with rider and driver incentives so I think it’s going to be a good opportunity to make some good money over the following weeks.

10 Feb-17 Feb 2020 | Uber £179.68| Bolt £70.97| Ola £601.42 Total £852.07

This week saw the arrival of Ola to the ever growing London rideshare market. Unfortunately, I had a bit of delay getting all my documents verified which meant I missed out on the big launch on monday. This did mean though, that I ended up having a good day driving for Uber and Bolt as a lot of drivers flocked to Ola.

On Tuesday I was eventually able to log onto the Ola app and it was looking like it was going to be a really busy week as it seemed all the riders had also flocked to Ola to take advantage of the opening offers and discounts.

This week was unfortunately cut short as I fell victim to yet another Catalytic convertor theft. On Thursday night I was woken by the noise of the catalytic convertor being ripped out from under the Prius. Within seconds they where gone with not much I could have done about it. It was a really stressful few days trying to arrange a new car and get all the documents uploaded to all the apps but I’ve managed to get it all sorted and I’ll be back on the road on monday.

The silver lining is that I have now upgraded the old Prius to a new Hyundai Ioniq so I’ll be hitting the road hard next week to make up for all the money I’ve lost through this whole ordeal.

17 Feb – 24 Feb 2020 | Uber £140.57| Bolt £77.92| Ola £692.65 Total £911.04

Ola stills going strong. There was though a problem with my app as it wiped out all my earnings, bonuses and referrals when I changed the car details. All the earnings above are figures I got from my bank statement so I’m not sure how much of that are bonuses, referrals and guarantees. Regardless, It is all the money I received from Ola so I made the above table for last week and this week to show what I got paid each day.

24 Feb – 2 March 2020 | Uber £514.06| Bolt £191.68| Ola £307.64 Total £1013.38

This week was a great week as hit over £1000 along with having Sunday off. After making certain changes that now allow me to work uninterrupted, I am now working from 5am for anywhere between 10 to 12 hours straight. It surprisingly isn’t particularly difficult putting in these long shifts but when you get home is when you really feel it. Rest and recovery is paramount so I am prioritising sleep to make sure I am refreshed for the early morning start. Because I’m working so hard during the week, I am only doing a few hours on Saturday and taking the whole of sunday off. I could go out and work on Sunday as well but that wouldn’t be a smart long term strategy because if you get too greedy in this job your physical and mental health will suffer.

This week was all about Uber again. Having all 3 apps running at the same, It was generally Uber that would give the job first so I just took whatever came my way.

Has everyone gone back to using Uber after their Ola discounts have ended or was it simply just a quiet week?

Lets see next week if Ola continues to go strong or will normal service resume with Uber back at the top spot.

Overall, It was a decent month. With the introduction of Ola as a third app running alongside Uber and Bolt and with my new work schedule, I feel confident that, moving forward I’ll be consistently hitting over 1K a week pretty easily.
